Host - Commodore
A Sailpast is a yacht club and naval tradition that dates back millennia. The Commodore reviews the vessels and the skippers salute the Commodore as they pass. After, there is a gathering, with champagne, to renew friendships amongst the members and celebrate the sailing that will come.
Members who cannot be present are expected to send their regrets to the Commodore. This year the Commodore is sailing across Georgia Strait to be there, so he expects a full turnout! The Sailpast is held near Caulfeild Cove (just off Caulfeild Park in West Vancouver) and we gather afterwards at Snug Cove.
